Honorary Life Membership

IFMSA-Egypt Honorary Life membership is a special type of membership that doesn’t undergo the regulations of other types of membership mentioned in the constitution or bylaws where it is only awarded to persons who have greatly contributed to the achievements and aims of IFMSA-Egypt & reinforced the farewell of the federation can become Honorary Life Members.

IFMSA-Egypt Honorary Life Members:

1- Dr. Ahmed Khamis
Dr. Ahmed Khamis is currently the UNAIDS Egypt Country Manager.
He was awarded the IFMSA-Egypt Honorary Life Membership during the 2nd IFMSA-Egypt General Assembly for the term 2013 / 2014, during the 5th Winter Camp, February 2014.
His IFMSA journey started in his Local Committee, Alexandria Students' Scientific Associations [ASSA-Alexandria], with his focus set towards the Standing Committee on Sexual & Reproductive Health including HIV/AIDS where he has empowered himself and members around him to undertake the IFMSA career.
His advancement towards the national scope of IFMSA operation as NORA for the term has raised the standards in his Standing Committee's projects, capacity and networking. Ahmed Khamis has risen to prominence with his exposure to the IFMSA global network with his attendance of its General Assemblies and Regional Meetings.
Positions held:
  • IFMSA-Egypt National Officer on Reproductive Health and AIDS 2003 - 2005.
  • IFMSA SCORA Director 2005 – 2006.
  • IFMSA Secretary General 2006 - 2007.
  • IFMSA Supervising Council Member 2007 - 2008.

His accomplishments have surpassed our expectations at the time. Dr. Khamis continues to
instruct IFMSA-Egypt members to follow and Team of Officials providing immeasurable
support in the manner of consultation on various facets of IFMSA operation and networking.


2- Dr. Mohamed Salah.

Mohamed Salah Ahmed, MB-BCh, MPH, an Egyptian Physician, Epidemiologist and biostatistician. Earned His Medical Degree (MBBCh) from Zagazig University in 2009, His Masters of Public Health (MPH) from the American University of Beirut in 2013. Currently working in IDLO (International Development Law Organization) as a field program officer, he is also the secretary general of the Egyptian Society of Epidemiology.
Dr. Mohamed Salah was awarded IFMSA-Egypt Honorary Life Membership during the 3rd IFMSA-Egypt for the term 2013 / 2014, April 2014.

He started his journey within his Local Committee Zagazig Medical Students' Scientific Association [ZMSSA-Zagazig] as ZMSSA Treasurer then President then he advanced towards the national level.

Positions held:
  • IFMSA-Egypt Secretary General & Treasurer 2008 - 2009.
  • IFMSA-Egypt President 2009 - 2011.
Dr. Mohamed Salah was awarded IFMSA-Egypt Honorary Life Membership due to his great contributions  and the continuous support to IFMSA-Egypt.
