SUMMARY:IFMSA-Egypt Winter Camp XIII
DESCRIPTION:The biggest IFMSA-Egypt capacity-building event of the year is here! This year we present to you our 13th Winter Camp\, under a vision and theme that is not only related to the future of the health field\, but also to the future of this planet: Climate Action and Health.\n\nClimate change is impacting health in a myriad of ways\, including leading to death and illness from increasingly frequent extreme weather events\, such as heatwaves\, storms\, and floods\, the disruption of food systems\, increases in zoonoses and food-\, water- and vector-borne diseases\, and mental health issues. Due to the urgency to take corrective actions\, the United Nations listed “Climate Change” as SDG 13.\nBased on our responsibility towards society\, IFMSA-Egypt has chosen “Climate Change” as one of its national priorities for the term 2022/2023 to have an active role for the medical students in dealing with such a global threat.\nThe event consists of two main parts:\nThe Pre-Winter Camp: an annual 3-day Sub-Regional Training (SRT) held to capacitate medical students with knowledge about different topics of global health interest through holding different official IFMSA-internationally certified workshop\, and this year we will be having the biggest-ever with 8 parallel internationally-certified workshops!!\nThe annual IFMSA-Egypt Winter Camp: a greater version of our national general assemblies with an extended agenda offering medical students the opportunity to embark on a life-changing journey\, where sessions on multiple topics are held back to back\, trainings on every different skill are offered and the chance to unite medical students with a different stakeholder in health awaits us through the theme & side events. All for the purpose of empowering medical students from all over Egypt.\nAnd of course\, our event will never be complete if we miss the social program!
